Cotton plant make it's way to the sky. Cotton is grown as a major crop all over the panhandle. Several kinds were bought for the gardening tutorial to use this semester and next!

Beans and corn are what you call companion plants. Like all good friendships, they have something to offer each other. Beans fix nitrogen at their feet, which nourishes the tall-growing corn, and corn stalks offer a natural trellis for the vertical-growing bean plants to grow up on.

A fuzzy pumpkin vine unfurls. Once they get going, pumpkin patches are quick to spread into a blanket-like ground cover. Last semester they grew out and up- getting almost two feet tall!
